IMO a solid lure catches and lots of fish that would be perfect. But a solid as lure if it does not produce as much, I'd rather have the one catches more but a bit weaker.

Well put Tony, no lure is immune to the test of time or some great fishing! 

I can repair any lure that has a through wire set-up. Stick bait's that are internally wired can be done but the lure has to be split, this is not an exact science and some don't split cleanly, it also involves having to apply a new finish to the lure e.g paint, epoxy etc... Sometimes it is best to cut your losses. 

To re-wire a lure I charge $20 for the first lure, $10 a lure after that up to 5 lures, After 5 lures they are $5 each...

I use a Quality wire sourced direct from a Lure maker in the USA making 1000's of lures a day, they do not have the time for inferior wire and it's associated problems, and I have found it to be the best wire ticking the most boxes for it's use.

I also have some larger gauge 2.0mm annealed stainless wire for larger baits, or if chasing large tuna, small whales etc...

some of the lures will get damaged during the fighting with a big fish. some might be a quality issue also sometime due to the hooks get caught with the wire ring. I have seen lots of lures broken such as Hammer head, Meron-Ya, Killer, Felcon and Carpenter. The more fish you catch the more damage you do to the lure.

Unfortunatly stainless wire dosent like being bent or twisted to tight and the harder  the wire the more it happens. A mate had a couple of Nomads from over the ditch and when we went to use them same probs. called them up sent some pics and NO PROBLEMSThumbs Up to their great credit they sent 2 replacments ASAP. I imported 10   stick baits last year from the USA as they were less than half the price of the equivalent  here . Out of those 5 developed subtle spiral fracture cracks in the wire tow points  similar to the one pictured. This was with them never actually having been used just sitting in my tackle box for few months. There is obviously some problem with metal fatigue over time with the steel being bent and twisted under tension as it is.According to the store I got them from this is far from an isolated problem brand and as Ginga says even some of the top of the range  lures have had this problem. I have been sent a few lures lately for re-wiring from a couple of keen fishermen...

I was surprised to find that the wiring on some was not up to scratch, or had been subject to some great fishing and had stretched quite a bit...

One lure in particular looked like this on the tow point eye...


There was no way to see it was like this so I was quite shocked...

Have a close look at your lure's, all of the 30kg + fish might be caught by Boulder if you don't! Ouch
