I had this convo with my mate recently about some of the $1000+ stuff....is it REALLY that much better?
 
for LBG $300-400 is my max.

I was leant a Monster mesh form daiwa and like anything i am given to test i have been pushing it to the limit. Have not managed to break it and have been absolutely hauling on it.
Love the softer action of the rod too its not hard on the back.
Personally i like the action for fighting kings staright up and down, the rod is pretty forgiving, for the money they are awesome.

Nothin wrong with either. Mark from Extreme has a monster mesh and has not been able to break it.

 The demon bloods I have only had a bend on, they look a cut above the monster but are really more of a popper rod I think than a stickbait rod I think.

Would have to agree but my only experience with monster mesh is the spin jig rod I have and its not that great.

Haven't heard great things about the monster mesh popping rods but that's just secondhand information. Haven't used one myself.

Can absolutely recommend the Shimano Kaibutsu Caranax Pencil Instrument as I have one and I like it.

The action on those monster mesh rods ain't the best for fighting kings straight up and down on the boat but would probably be pretty good for fighting off the rocks. Haven't experienced those demon bloods.
