If you are right handed you'll have more control of the rod if holding it with your right hand.<br><br>Left hand winding is easy to pick up and well worth it.<br><br>Carpenter rods are typically around $1500..... had a play with one at yeehaa and daaaammmmmm, primo! If you are like me, budget restricted then you can get a Shimano Pencil Instrument for around $600, has worked well for me<br>]]>
