Story of our day today. Water got choppier and the fish bit harder. Bang on there rory.
The fish will hit them harder and be more aggressive in choppy water.
Just pays to experiement a bit with the lures too until you find one that will swim and if the lure is flying out of the water too much try to slow it down and see what happens.
Carpenter blue fish will swim better in rough than a Gamma if that helps anyone.

When I v'e beem out and its choppy / windy and my stickbait (floating) has been skipping along I've found casting in the opposite direction has made it a lot easier to work the s/bait , often casting into the wind , so although the cast is a whole lot shorter the action in the water has been good. I'm good for now mate but cheers for the offer, most of the designs I'm doing at the moment are 200mm and dimensions go outside what you've got there.

Got a heap of ceder and while not happy with variation in density might as well try use the stuff up.

Would a sub-surface or sinking bait help you out Stefan? I presume the bait is breaking out due to the chop.

Its definitely more difficult to get them to work in choppy water.

There are stickbaits that are easier to work than others but I wouldn't be able to tell you which ones as I've mostly been playing with the ones I've been making.

But even the cherry pie I've been using isn't that easy to swim consistantly during rough weather.

Hi Guys,
 
  Just wondering how you guys have found sticks in choppy water. Every now and again I get them to work sweet but never as easily as when it's flat. Are the there some that work better than others or should I just switch to poppers? Any thoughts?
Sorry if this has been covered before...couldn't see it.
