I did make a couple twisties for SWF, crazy lookin things they are too. Again not sure if I did it right. Did it in thirds with the loop to the flyline being a double of the twist to get 4 strands (cause of small line dia), with a suregons loop down to the usual two strands then a biminin down to one strand which then gets attached to a short bite leader. Not the easiest leader system I've ever tied but a bit of fun on a rainy day. I put a crimp on the end of the leader and put it into the drill ,tieing the other end to a fixed object,then spinning the single strand of mono for about a minute and a half ,i then drop the drill go to the centre of the mono and begin to let the mono twist together.
Using Owner #8 400lb swivels,bit of an overkill but hey.

the bite leader is doubled back on itself. Cam is obviously way better at them than me(how do you get them that tight) but my ones accounted for a couple of hundred YFT and wahoo so I know they don't **** out. good for jigging too. dont know what brand swivel the one in the pic is... Mozz thats about the same twist rate I have made my leaders at....so if it works for you Im happy. 

For the swivel connection in the first pic, I take it is doubled back on its self?

What brand swivel ? 

Ryan..have you tried twisty leaders for saltwaterfly? I made up a couple and they seem to work well, in theory anyway. Will put to the test in Tonga. Wink

Here is a twisty trevor made for me. binding done with a pr bobbin but I just use a 6 turn nail knot

Twisted leaders also provide some nice line stretch aswell as abrasion resistance so a medium tight twist is perfect. (I'd call the picture above as tight, and pretty much spot on) As long as the twistie is even so both strands share the weight evenly that is ideal.  Sometimes you have 1 strand straight with the other strand doing all the twisting, or gaps in too lose twists.  Chuck them out and start again.

Cheers for that SJ, looks pretty much as easy as it gets. Will give it a whirl.
I think it was Rod Barron or somebody that posted a vid, thats the method I use, nice and easy.
 
Aaron just give them a bit longer on the drill, thats how I got to get mine tighter. Not sure how much difference it makes but it certainly made the terminal end easier to deal with. But as you can tell, I'm no expert for sure

Question though... How tight should the twist be? I made up 10 twisties out of 100lb mono getting an even twist throughout but I varied the degree of twist in each. I notice on Sjs pic his twisty is quite alot tighter than I made mine. Does it mater????

Also what brand/rating swivels for GT setups?

Its a pretty open weave  braid, and has a lot more strands to break than Mono.
