The 8500 is really too bulky and cumbersome for poppering, the 6500 is just fine, and holds a ton of braid. The 5500 may be fine as well, haven't played with one of them though. They are a good, rugged, KISS reel from what I can tell. Gonna send a couple more up to the Sollies in a couple of months I think.
