    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.fishing.net.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=42751">groper</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 5485<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 20 Jul 2004 at 7:50pm<br /><br />mate i work at fish city in hamilt&#111;n and all i do is strayline, off the rocks or off a boat,<br>firstly you will need a new rod i would reccomend the 7'6" ugly stick it is rated 8-12kg has a nice soft tip for casting but plenty of grunt down in the butt.....<br>reel wise there is nothing wr&#111;ng with the abu but i would look into daiwa reels either the sl range of the sl-x range great casting reels (in my opini&#111;n the best around) and size wise look at the 30's or 40's (sl 40 or sl-x 40) they hold around 450 metres of 10kg....<br>hope that helps but d&#111;nt be afraid to ask you local tackle shops <br><br>ps: where do you do most of your fishing ???]]>
