I just bought one of these via Smart Marine.
 
I was wondering what I use as a battery? I had a look at one in Dick Smith it is 12V 1.2A.
 
Is this the correct current for the Cuda 300?

They also have them with higher current ratings.

Here's my Eagle Cuda 300 I have just mounted on my SIK.
 
Transducer was mounted with Silicone and tape, which is temporary, until I was happy that the position was correct.
 
I tested the FF for the first time this morning and it was awesome. (will be eating snapper tonight Big smile) The detail on this FF is amazing. It's got a nice high resolution.
 
The tape can be removed now, I guess.
 


Yes, it's mounted at a slight angle but I'm fine with that. The base is lined up with the base of the Cannon rod holder to make it look neater.



Battery is mounted in an old plastic nailbox behind the seat.



Transducer is mounted in the hatch behind the bulkhead which is just behind the seat. Excess cable is tied off to the flush-mount rod holder.

Have got a Garmin FF 90 on my swing. You can see the head unit position below. I remove it and stow it in the front hatch in a bag when going thru surf, only takes a sec and prolongs the life. Even if they say ipx7 alot of fish finders dont handle waves crashing over them. My 12v 7ah battery sits on the hull inside a foam cutout with 2 securing velcroe straps. This is accessible from the front hatch. My transducer sits on the hull under the small hatch between your legs. I have selleys allcleared an open pipe end which the transducer sits in and I top it up with water each time I go out so its always looking thru the medium of water and there is no chance of air bubbles in goop etc.
 
 
Anyway Im sure there are better ways of doing it but this works well for me.
