From what I understand the VS 'a's have had their components updated to counter the corrosion problems that the VS's had. There are still alot of VS reels on the shelf - so take care if you are buying a VS reel. <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I have bought a 55 VSa - and teamed it with a braid concept rod. I have gone from not liking Okuma gear (at all after several failiers)&nbsp;to being very happy with it in a very short time.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>The only complaint with the reel is the grub screw that attaches the handle is not up to the job.</DIV>]]>
