if there was a half a metre swell how good would a sail be?
would you get absolutely soaked or would the bow dig in?

kites have been used on yaks for touring and in hawawi they use big arse kitesurfing kites with outrigger canoes to race across the channels,
 
I have kitesurfed since it first came out and think a simple sled kite would work Not sure how it would go direct down wind you could loose tension in the line's, probally pay to have a rudder on your kak.

I know there's been a thread about kayak sails, but as my kayak is basically only used as a fishing rig, my thoughts on  using a sail setup would be it's a bit cumbersome when stowed on the deck whilst fishing.  I've been playing around with different kites etc and was wondering if any others are using a "tackable unit like "Pauls Fishing Kites" or simular.
Any thoughts guys would be appreciated as I have a cunning plan for xmas!Wink
