Q...True. I guess that the boarding 'lip' is just wide enough to sit on it while taking the fins of. Great little feature i must admit. No doubt we will bump into each other at Kapiti or at the ramp one day.

Eric... as I see it, ladders are for bubble blowers and swimmers. I can easily pull myself over the side, or pop up onto the port side boarding platform. Some nice rigs guys - I am very jealous. Love those Surtees hulls and have admired them for years. That Neil Surtees is a bloomin genius with some of his design work and gizmo's.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I had 2 people on board and all the fishing gear and got up to 54kph then yesterday with 4 on board and all the fishing gear got up to 45kph, really happy with my purchase, so easy and fuel efficient

Here's the final layout of the CC Big%20smile. As this is used for spearfishing, a sounder with 1000m range is not required. The Lowrance 520c is more than adequate as a sounder, and the GPS and mapping are great. Also means one less device to install. And there's just enough room in the console to install the fuel computer.

Car_nut...mine is doing 51km/h with 3 POB, and dive gear.
Running a 17" stainless prop (high thrust version of the Yammy 60).

Car_nut, as SS said. I am swinging a 13inch pitch prop and get about 55km/h. I have not really tested the boat's top speed in calm conditions yet and will post some feedback once I have done so.
It is an awesome softbait platform - stable at rest, very large fishing space,economical and cute looking too! I have gone from a 6.2 Rayglass and 3.8 Stacer combo, no regrets!
