2 yachts still beached high and dry on the footpath by Windsor reserve this morning. Fall over 24 hours from 1008.9 to 964.5 ~ 44.4hpa (outstanding)
Highest wind 58 knots (all time record)
Highest 10 min average 43 knots (all time record)

The records tumble.

Cape Reinga recorded 962.9hPa on Saturday which beats both Beagle's reference and the lowest pressure ever recorded on the North Island proper of 963 hPa in 1956 (or was it 1959?) at the time of Cyclone Ida.

The northern wairoa river burst its banks flooded the new bridge H14@ Tangiteroria and sent dargaville for a swim.....i had week off work during that storm due to the weather
