It is patently obvious to us all now that Slamdunk must be a phycotic boatie with a very good understanding of "photoshop" to make cracks appear out of absolutley nothing at all. He also, no doubt, has many relations of convict ancestry thay have totally taken over the Australian forums on similar dicussion threads. These too, are all just imaginary people with imaginary gripes. It all very clear now that Quintrex performance, factory backup support and dealership pride, is second to none. How many cracks have you had in your home built Ally Pelin, Red Rabbit ?

Why else are they now standard ?

If you have confidence in Quintrex not cracking why was there only a 2 year guarantee on the hull when some welded plate boats of the same price range have a lifetime guarantee. When I asked about this you told me not to worry this was a normal guarantee Yeah right

I can assure you I do not hammer my boat and dont go out in rough conditions but as is common in Nz I have had to come home in rough conditions. If they cant handle this they should not be sold for this purpose but be kept to Australian rivers and estuaries that they were designed for

Can you also explain as shown in photos why my boat has internal welds covering less than half the flat area that could be welded. Is that normal or as reported by an ex employee of Telwater a short cut by underpaid welders paid on number of welds

Do you consider 2 new internal cracks in rear of boat which is an area that doesnt get pounded plus a new crack in hull in 5 months after you did a full repair job with a 6 month guarantee that is now not being honoured normal wear and tear for a Quintrex

If mine was the only boat that had a problem you would have repaced the hull as requested.Australian forums indicate hull cracking is a major problem.

I have asked Telwater to answer these questions but they go silent but you have the opportunity as you will be waiting for my reply

I was the salesman who sold you the product and still believe that aluminium boats shouldn't crack unless treated poorly or cared for adversely. Over the last nine years there has been approximately 1000 Quintrex hulls sold into New Zealand, your hull being the only one that has 'failed' to this level that we know of.

If anyone on this forum would like to discuss this matter further you are welcome to come into the dealership as I do not believe forums are an accurate source of information as the story often becomes very one-sided when people can hide behind profiles.

To reply to a couple of posts by other members:

CanadianJohn - I'm sorry to hear that you were not happy with the repair job that was conducted on the seats of your boat. Upon looking through our records this repair was completed at the same time (Friday 2nd March 2007) as your first service and the total bill was for $247.58. This included 12 long screws at $1.20 each with a discount of $7.58 applied. The labour charge was for 2.5 hours, as I cannot recollect whether your service took all of this time I have generated a credit in our system for you for the difference in hours from the standard 20 hour service (1.7 hours) to the value of $70. Please ensure you let the staff know if you are unhappy with your bill or service at the time so it can be rectified. As you have been in to the dealership since to have further servicing we were unaware you were not happy.

Wefaknis - You purchased a 395 Dart (i.e. dinghy) from our dealership on Monday 4th December 2006, we cannot recollect any issue regarding a leaking hull (not to say there wasn't) being bought to our attention. We sent you correspondence thanking you for your purchase dated 3rd January 2007 detailing that if you had any problems or concerns to contact myself or one of my staff. As a dealer it is hard to recitify problems if we are unaware they exist. Please contact me directly if there were any costs incurred by yourself that weren't covered at the time this occured as I cannot recollect this particular issue. You've mentioned in your post that myself and an old employee 'run a mile', this is not the case because we stand behind everything we do here at the dealership.

As a dealer and speaking on behalf of other dealers we would much rather people raise issues with us directly, rather than on forums such as this so that we can have the opportunity to rectify any queries, issues or concerns.

I will not be posting any further comments on this matter, on this forum but again invite anyone concerned to contact me directly, or visit me at the dealership.
