Hey I've got a Starlo Squidgy Spin - one of the pre-NZ ones in a lovely shade of graphite (they're in blue now aren't they?)

Great rod and paired with a 3k or 4k reel will put plenty of hurt on decent fish.  Fab for flicking upto an ounce or so around and with that split butt (!) deadly accurate when casting.

Downside - in deeper water, say 25m plus they really lack the grunt needed to turn a decent fish IMHO.  When put side by side with a T-Curve an 8kg KF might be 5 mins effort on the T-Curve vs a good 15-20 mins on the SS.

Now don't get me wrong it's a bloody good fun 15 mins but when the action is hot you really want to get back in there.

So for now I am still using my SS with a Sahara 4000 & 8kg fireline, and for the deeper water a nice new Innovator Nitro with a Stella 4000.

Yeah, with the dollar the way it is at the moment, it's a great idea to get a few mates together who want to buy some gear and bring in a bulk order.

With the government trying to force the dollar down because of the negative effect on our exporters, it ain't going to be like this forever.
