Way better for poppering than the shim 6500, absolutely no comparisson. However, the 950 is a very large reel, the 850SSm is big enough...still, for the right price, hell, why not the larger?<DIV>The Penn Spinfishers, although not the flashest designs, are damn near bullet proof. The SSm series are also a considerable improvement over the older SS series reels, but still have that rather small spool, which is a bit of a bugger!</DIV><DIV>Anyhow, for poppering, go for the Penn, NOT the baitrunner!</DIV><DIV>Cheers, Stu.</DIV>]]>
