Find structure and get the tide when its hitting the face, that brings out your bait fish and then the predators. Incoming tide runs clockwise around the country.

I'm based in Auckland and cant really travel much further than snells beach sorta distance. I've got a boat but never seem to pick spots that are at all decent. Got out to kawau and found somewhere that looked promising in my mind, jumped in, and didn't see anything.
