Hardly expensive I believe government is only going to pay >10% of the Council book value.
Oh and the $$ they will borrow to pay will come from taxpayers too. Pay again for something you've already paid for. No wonder the Councils are up in arms. 

 Also The 3 waters owners are..........50% Maori (gifted) and the other 50% a 4 way consortium. Wonder how long it'll be before the main stake holders achieve 100% ownership. Water ownership via the back door. Remember the foreshore and seabed scuffle it was about water.

Papakura sold its watercare/supply off too viola in turn was supppse to reduce rates.Rates went up,water went up,80% off charges is for waste. average bill for 3 adults over 3 months is $150/$170 compared to most who pay in Auckland around $80 I believe.

So will 3 waters buy out a private company??(viola) this is going to be one expensive exercise.

Signed. I am on a community bore with 15 other properties. We own the infrastructure and jointly cover all maintenance and capital. The Govt has its hand out and will force rural and community users like us to conform and pay for their regulation and testing or shut us down.
