Yea as Craig said.  The tropical style lines are just made with plastics that don't turn to jelly when it gets hot.   They become a bit stiff when you use them in typical NZ temp waters.   

Iv got one line that is a tropical.   A bonefish tapper.  Love it, but it only comes out when I go overseas otherwise its a coiled springLOL

They're fine in most NZ temps. They can loose a lot of suppleness in cold weather, but are still usable. To improve their performance on a cold winters day store the reel in a hotwater cupboard overnight before you go fishing. Dashboard of your car with heater turned on works well too.

Seawater temps are usually in your favour. Leaving the reel outside on a cold winters morning is the killer. Similarly, I wouldn't use them in freshwater in wintertime. Just interested to know if anyone has used these lines in nz waters and how they perform.
