There is a lot of reef straight out from the harbour entrance on the left - there are usually kings there and I have caught a few on jigs from the kayak, but the area can be quite sharky so I have had a few chopped in half on the way up. Snapper fishing can be very good on the upcurrent side of the reef - just use the sounder.

Head down to the wharf and or pub and chat to locals, including the coms guys...found them to be a friendly bunch up there.

Heading up to Leigh for a week at the beginning of December. Keen to target kingfish with jigging &/or stick baits and soft baits/slow jigs for everything else. Don't know the area at all but got gps & sounder. Any or all top tips appreciated please. Also is the boat ramp easy?
