The guy working there who i spoke to said he'd advise against using one of the lighter 'shore jigging' rods for top water. Not the right action, he reckons.
I guess shore jigging is a particular kind of fishing they do in Japan and other parts of Asia that we don't do.

BUT, one of the guys on Morning Tide (check it out on youTube if you haven't already) uses that 95H Blue Sniper  'Extreme Shore Jigging' 20-60lb rod (sounds like the one you may be eyeing up) for land-based pelagic fishing in Australia. Seems to go okay, but it's a bit heavier than a light set up, designed for 60-150g jigs.
I'm thinking light is 30-70g lures, like the GT icecream in 1.5oz, the little StrikePro skidding popper, some of the light sinking stickbaits - Nomad Madscad in 115mm.

I have a 7'6" Braid Concept rod and Shimano Biomaster 6000xg, max drag 13kg. Rod is rated for 10-15kg+ line but I have run 10kg of drag over it without grimacing. Light and great for smaller kings and snaps etc..
Re SHore Based rod, I have a 9'8" jigging master which I have used for stickbaiting. Its true the action is different from a proper stickbait rod but you can learn to work the lure so it swims well.....if you want an all rounder...
