Thats interesting. So someone else has found small snapper in big snapper. Was a first for me,but seemingly it does happen.

Dug these photo's from my files. A mate speared this snapper. As you can see in the photo there were at least 3-4 small snapper in the digestive system.

We had a big work-up off Raglan and snaps were feeding like crazy. Not a chance of not getting limit. Tried fresh snapper and....they gorged on it!
At same time, tried a 200mm jig and caught gurnard.

Also caught a marlin with 2 flounder in it's guts, off Raglan

Many a time the bigger Snaps are full of small flounder down this way Cirrus! as Mokau has two big rivers within a few K's apart. Have caught Snaps with Snapper fillets on a few desperate times with no bait. If you skin it bone it, a big long piece it does work. Well Richard. I looked to the East,then looked to the West where the dark winds roar,and decided on the bright side of the road. Those huge tides & swift currents  in The manukau right now are a bit daunting. Will wait to they get a bit smaller and then gurnard time.
Was nice out East. Motored out past the ancient volcano,the low cloud lifted,and the sun shone on a still and glassy sea.
Over a low Easterly swell with flocks of shearwaters flying in the same direction,keeping pace with the boat. At one with nature. Great feeling. Found a workup of sorts ,hooked a nice Kahawai on the little grim reaper,dived and leapt all over the sea. And then in search of snaps .
Great to be away from neon humming,telephone ringing,found my quiet place and was a great day.
Was going to have a word to those Snaps ,but they were deceased and becoming fillets. Dont think they would have understood.

Interesting what Snapper eat. Assume they would have been last seasons spawn,just a few months old.
Always something new to learn or see out there,always that something that makes it all so interesting.
