She rides well both into and with the sea and being able to lift and drop the bow when you need sure makes things more comfortable.  ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.fishing.net.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=72397">salty69</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 111350<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 08 Aug 2015 at 2:31pm<br /><br />cheers guys, none of the current team at Alloy Cats/Kingfisher boats were around at the time, but they sorted me out with someone who gave me a good insight - so big ups to them.<div>Looks like the boats of that era were all custom built with about 20 5.5 'Strikers' and 30 - 50 6.3 'Strikers' produced.&nbsp; They have 5mm bottom, 4mm sides and 5mm transoms.</div><div>Apparently each boat has a 'K' or 'KF' identification number on the engine bracket.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Just giving the Cruiser a birthday present and will look at a few options.&nbsp; Cheers again guys.&nbsp;</div>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.fishing.net.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=48820">deltadreams</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 111350<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 07 Aug 2015 at 8:31pm<br /><br />Salty69,<div>&nbsp;</div><div>I had a Kingfisher 630 purchased new on 06, had 150 Honda on her,&nbsp; yes she was heavy as well but towed it up to Omaha a lot and to Tauranga, towed with a Prado and besides being a tad heavy was the best boat that I had and towed on a single axle, that was on a trailer made in Te Puke.&nbsp; I guess mine was heavy as I had 5mm hull and 4mm sides and deck&nbsp; when I ordered her.&nbsp; Best boat I had in NZ.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp; I believe that they are still made to order in Tauranga but not 100% on that. Used to go out west thru the Manukau bar with ease.</div><div>But it&nbsp;was sold in 2012 as I&nbsp; moved to Perth.&nbsp; A friend also had the same boat and he has upgraded to a trailer with duals and you don't even know that it is behind you &#091;he has a Navara&#093;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>That may be a thought for you</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Regards</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>DD</div>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.fishing.net.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=72397">salty69</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 111350<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 27 Jul 2015 at 8:30pm<br /><br />hi all, this time last year I went from a Buccaneer 237 to a 5.5m Kingfisher and although apprehensive at first I love it.&nbsp; The Yami&nbsp;115 4 stroke pushes it along&nbsp;beautifully and&nbsp;she's surprisingly stable when everyone wants to peer over the same side at the same time.<div></div><div>Another thing that surprises me was how heavy it is to tow (I travel over the Kopu hill to Tairua/Pauanui), and I'd be interested in the thoughts of other owners or those who knew a little bit about the brand.&nbsp;&nbsp;Mine was built in 2001 and I think Kingfisher boats have changed hands since.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Thinking about downgrading from my VX Cruiser so I'd be interested to know what others are using for tow vehicles.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>cheers</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Salty</div>]]>
