Happy to say they all swim well.<div>I have yet to settle on the right hook combination yet but have tried a couple of different sized owners and some spintech trebles.     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.fishing.net.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=77001">jaypeegee</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 110833<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 24 Sep 2015 at 1:33pm<br /><br />Bumping this coz I slipped , tripped and got a TranX PG -ex demo off TM for not a bad price<div>I guess the title should be what OH rod can I get now.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Research shows the musky rod solution&nbsp;isn't a good option. </div><div>Barra rods of suitable length in 2 piece are far and few between.</div><div>The snakehead at gofish is a little short as I will be shore based and would prefer 8-9 foot</div><div>MC works and or Ripple fisher is out of my price range to be frank.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>So make, bodge or buy is my dilemma?</div><div>Buy is fastest but options are limited.</div><div>Bodge is me cutting down a 13 foot 2 piece sonik sk3 butt and reguiding the top half or using the sk4 top half (its compatible) to aim at around a 9 foot rod ( realistically this has about a 5% chance of happening for many reasons)</div><div>Make is a steep learning curve and might be a step too far for me as my current abilities/experience limited to re-guiding only.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Have seen a 9 foot 2 piece&nbsp;Ecooda expedition rod</div><div>Has&nbsp;Fuji guides and rated to throw 100-250 g lures. I assume this to be an optimistic estimate but if it handles 150 OK I am sweet</div><div>2.59 mtrs. weighs 290g. rated to 26kg line. </div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Not much info online on this rod but the ecooda range gets some reasonable feedback from aussies. both for rods and reels.
