Soft enough tip for livebaiting, should throw a popper or two and have been used for years on snapper. They are around with a black tip and a 3k carbon weave outer mid and butt, plus it won't break the bank. You were correct that there is no one rod that will cover all three bases properly so somewhere you will need to make a compromise as to which of the three needs is the most important.

Now before I ask this I am aware there is no one rod for all applications , especially not this. what I'm looking for is a rod that can strayline for snapper, live bait for kings and throw the very odd popper/stickbait. I've got the shimano terez in mind (spin) at 7'2" I think from memory. I'm also looking at the daiwa demon blood and monster mesh spin rods but possibly not sensitive enough for a smaller snap and possibly a bit big for the boat if not used soley for popping. your thoughts?? cheers (if I was to buy a straight popper rod I'd look at others like the van staals / kilwell snakeskin etc).
