All leading fish and prize winners will be taken from entries posted under the 2010 W.S. Laurie Gamefish Competition sub forum. Prize Categories  

1st YFT of the season - Sponsored by Driveline
1st YFT of any size to be landed for the season.

 
1st YFT or Marlin caught on a jig in NZ Waters - $250 “Boulder Guiding“ jigging package
Jigging is defined as vertical jigging of a metal jig from a stationary boat
 

1st T&R Marlin of the season - Legend Lure's  from Legend Lures 
Must be confirmed with tag number, photo and/or witnessed by another Fishing.net.nz member

 
1st weighed marlin of the season - Sponsor " W.S Laurie & Co "
Must exceed 90Kg and be accompanied with an official NZBGFC affiliated Club weigh sheet or other suitable verification
 

Best Photograph or Video award   - Sponsord by www.Fishing.net.nz & Olympus
The winner will receive a new Olympus Tough waterproof 12 megapixel camera. Entries will be judged by Rob Wright from HE Perry, the NZ Olympus agents. Entries must be a photograph or video of a Gamefish or of Gamefishing action.

1st Marlin For Angler
All 1st time anglers having landed their 1st marlin will go into an end of season draw for a very special prize

 
Legend Lures T&R Cup  -  Sponsored by Legend Lures
Awarded by Legend Lures to the individual Angler having Tagged & Released the most Marlin for the season. All marlin must be photographed, tag numbers made avaliable if requested and must compy with the Rules of the Competition.

Most meritorious catch of the season
Awarded by the tournament committe for what is simply the most impressive catch or angling achievement of the season

Rules and conditions of entry for Pin Fish and Prize sections

     

  • Fish must be caught within the NZ Exclusive Economic Zone, i.e. 200 miles offshore but not including the Kermadec Islands.
  • To be eligible for pins and prizes you must be a registered Fishing.net.nz member (minimum of "Bronze" level - i.e: have made at least one post in the forum) prior to the day of capture for which any claim is to being made.
  • All pins and prizes are for fish caught during the period  1 Dec 09 – June 30 2010 inclusive
  • Entrants are required to post each entry under the standard format in "2010 WS Laurie Gamefish Competition" sub-forum and include a photo. All catches must be supported by either a NZBGFC affiliated club weigh sheet, or, photo at a certified weigh station if the catch is classed as a courtesy weigh, clearly showing the catch board and catch details ( tag card and photo of the fish with tag in place in the case of T & R).
  • To be eligible for  Prizes, all fish must be caught on rod and reel and by a single angler.
  • For the Jig caught YFT and/or Marlin - Jigging is defined as vertical jigging of a metal jig from a stationary boat.
  • Cheating and/or misrepresentation results in instant disqualification from this competition and any future Fishing.net.nz events. Contestants may be required to provide additional evidence of their catch to support their claim.
  • Any disputes will be ruled on by the tournament committee and their decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. In the event of two fish being caught on the same day and where they both could be eligible for a 1st of species prize, anglers will be required to verify the time and place their fish was hooked and the first club recorded hook up VHF notification will be deemed to be the 1st fish.
  • The tournament committee absolutely reserve the right to amend the rules in the event it is deemed necessary to ensure a fair and enjoyable competition for all fishing.net.nz members.
