Raglan Fishing Report - November 4th, 2021

Go deep for snapper

The first day of Level 3  Step 1 saw great sea conditions and a rush out to the 50 metre plus mark by all the usual local suspects.

Everyone did well with good fish starting at 50 metres slightly north of due west and continuing all the way up to 60 metres NW. The bigger fish are in around 50 metres with 60 meters producing West Coast pannies to quota in double quick time for my boat with a couple of better ones in the mix too. When snapper come onboard that quick the gurnard and kahawai barely got a look in, but the few caught were nice specimens.

With favourable forecasts for the next five days I am sure there will plenty of boats heading out this weekend, making the most of it.
