Raglan Fishing Report - March 18th, 2020

18 March 2020

With the change of season starting to take place, we've noticed some bigger snapper joining the summer schoolies. You'll find the fish half a mile or so up or down the coast, with good numbers in 25 to 35 metres. Small fresh baits are still the go-to.

As well as the snapper, we've noticed a small bycatch of gurnard at ties with some very good sized kahawai popping up too.

Albacore and skipjack tuna are still holding between Jackson’s reef and Gannett island, as well as south of the mountain in 30 meters with schools in as close as 25 meters.

The marlin are still here and are also in closer around the baitfish, being sighted in as close as 30 meters.
