Snapper fishing getting a little harder
With good snapper fishing the last few weeks it’s definitely got a bit harder with sea surface temperatures now around and above 20 degrees. Good catches of snapper are however still being reported in most depths from 35 meters out 70 plus meters. Spring spawning is coming to the end and you do have to move around in shallower depths to get on to the fish. Tide and daylight are also coming into play as we enter summer conditions too. North seems to be fishing the best but you have to do the travel times.
Out deeper in 70 meters plus good snapper are still around with the out going tide producing the best results.
Trevally and Kingfish are also being caught over the sand, so don’t forget the net for the Trevs.
The reefs are now holding Kingfish, but this year's Bronze Whalers are already here and are big and hungry looking like around 80kg models.
