Out deep in 85m or deeper the better snapper are holding down on the bottom in good numbers, with an hour's stop after trolling producing nice fish every drop. Fresh kahawai and bonito seem to be the best baits.
To say that the gamefishing is on out wide would be an understatement. Last week there was a red-hot bite between 100-120m northwest of the bar. On the way home, it seems guys were knocking over marlin as shallow as 80m with yellowfin tuna seeming to be caught in the 80-90m depths.
