With spring well under way and the water warming up the big juicy snapper are there in numbers. Bag limits for the boat within two hours most days now. A couple of bigger fish in each catch along with some plump West Coast pannies, even the kahawai struggling to get a look in. The gurnard that are getting to the baits are still a good size and fat.
When the snapper are really on they are hitting all types of bait with one customer binning up on "The Old Trout" Lol.
The fish have spread out and now cover depths from 40 to 60 meters plus.
