A window of settled weather saw good fishing out at 66 meters this week north of Gannet island a few miles. Snapper were back to a good West Coast pannie size and came onboard steadily all day. The winter spiny dog sharks are here but if the snapper are biting they aren't too prolific. Pack a few extra rigs to keep you fishing.
Further north again there were less snapper caught but gurnard and even more sharks experienced, so be prepared to change location if the fishing gets slow.
