Raglan Fishing Report - 16/11/23

Late spring snapper on the chew

With a bit more settled weather the last couple of weeks and a local fishing competition also being held there’s been plenty of good catches of the prolific spring snapper.

The better snapper have come from the 50-55 metre mark.

Good fish have been getting caught both south, west and north in depths ranging from 30-60m. The 50-55 metre depths have fished best with good healthy spring snapper being caught. All baits seem to work with fresh baits of course getting the results on the bigger fish more often than not.

There’s been a bycatch of nice gurnard and trevally, but when you hit the snapper on the bite it’s hard to catch anything else.

There looks to be another settled patch of weather next week so see you out there.
