There is some excellent autumn snapper fishing straight out and up the coast between 35 and 40m currently, with plump, healthy fish on the bite. Up the coast from north of Carters Beach past Crayfish Point has been producing well with ‘West Coast pannies’ and bigger being the norm.
The late-season tuna have moved back out to 70m and beyond in decent numbers since the southerlies of Easter. There’s also still the odd marlin out there too but it won’t last much longer as the warm water has been pushed north.
There’s a reasonable patch of weather coming along this weekend, so get out there and enjoy the excellent autumn fishing on offer.
