Hauraki Gulf Report 210218

  • General Saltwater, Auckland and The Hauraki Gulf

George & Nick have been enjoying more fine kingfish action in between low pressure systems. Perhaps numbers are down from January, but the average size is up so we're not complaining!

The boys have been travelling to the further reaches of the Gulf to find the better kings - Anchorite Rock, Channel Island, Horn Rock and the Mokohinaus all offering up some Hugh beauties.

The lads have also been star-struck with famous clients over the past week - George with Johnny Danger and Nick with some of the Australian Cricket Team fellas. Hopefully the kingis pulled a few back muscles so we don't see a repeat of that insane power hitting at Eden Park tonight!

Although we haven't put in much effort recently, the slow-jigging for snapper has definitely improved in the 50m areas of the Gulf. Workup action has been minimal however.

Until next time!
