Hauraki Gulf Fishing Report 161118

16 November 2018

After a bit of dodgy weather we have been well and truly back into the swing of things. The last week has seen some magic fishing in a wide area from Flat Rock to north of Cape Rodney.

On most days the gannets are present in numbers but are not concentrated. Long drifts are your friend in these situations - with kingfish seeming to turn up after a few snapper have hit the bin. Perhaps the comottion attracting these speedy predators.

We have been using the new Daiwa kohga and pirate lures, and suffice to say we have just made another bulk order - they are dangerously effective!
