What a great morning for the Adams family!
On the snapper front, we continue to do well with slowjigs between 45-65m and had a great morning last Monday. We had enough snapper by 9am and then towed a few tuna lures around – we saw 2 schools of tuna jumping but didn’t get a bite.
Over the holiday period it's been great to see lots of kids coming into the shop with beaming smiles proudly showing us a photo of their PB snapper. What’s not so great is sharing the Bay with not one, not two, but three commercial longliners. While I understand they have a right to be there, it is somewhat depressing to view the large orange buoys scattered across the Bay from the Middle Ground out to the Ninepin – particularly when there are 60-plus recreational boats all trying to catch a feed.
Slowjigs fished between 45m and 65m are doing the business for snapper.
Next on the BOI Swordfish Club tournament calendar is the CMP Juniors this weekend 11-12th January, followed by the Cater Marine Small Boats 18-19th January.
Come into the shop to check out the latest in gear, get your bait, ice and berley, and most importantly, some genuine intel! We are now open from 7.30am to 5.00pm, everyday including public holidays!! As always, if you urgently need some supplies after hours just give me a call.
