Good morning, well the rain is back and quite heavy in patches after a really pleasant stretch of weather that has enabled those that are keen to fish and ski to make the most of the fantastic conditions.
The next few days are going to be a rubbishy with rain and some snow but the outcome will be good as the rivers had dropped a little and cleared and for some the conditions have been a little harder to read. The rain which we have received over night will give us a little bit of run off as a result and allow the fishers and the fish a bit of cover which will help them both.
All rivers have good numbers of fish that have moved and over the past few days the fishing has been consistant for those that have thought like a fish and read the conditions well, others have struggled a bit due to the fact that once the rivers become a little clearer its often difficult to find the holding water. Most of the fish have been in good condition and size with some smaller fish pushing through which is to be expected at this time of the year too.
Pressure has eased off the spring fed streams allowing a little bit of ease and being able to fish accross some very nice water both upper and lower rivers over recent days. I having fished the Hatepe, and not even come across another soul which is great. The bigger volumed rivers have continued to fish consistantly, and anglers have followed the fish and fished the busier water to find the holding water.
The rain over the next couple of days maybe at times heavier and bring colour and a little bit of additional water but as always it will ease and the fish will continue to pulse through. The cooler temperatures of late have certainly triggered some movement finially. River mouths have had little pressure and the smaller streams likewise, though reading the weather and frosty conditions has yielded some very nice fish at times off the smaller mouths and no real need to fish late into the night as the fish ahve often come in just on dusk.
Take care on the water and feel free to call for an update at any time.
