Whangarei 11-year-old Zach Barker was stunned for words when he was told he was the winner of the TAKF prize for 2018.
Zach, who spends part of his year in Brisbane, Australia, comes back to New Zealand regularly and can’t wait to get his hands on his new boat next month.
Fishing is in Zach’s blood. His grandfather Tank Barker is a well-known Northland skipper and fishing identity.
The prize includes a Mercury rigid inflatable boat on a Voyager trailer, powered by an eight horsepower Mercury twostroke outboard. Two RFD lifejackets and a Kilwell rod and reel combo, along with a tackle box and tackle, are part of the package.
All junior anglers whose pictures are published in the Mercury TAKF pages over the year go into the draw to win the
boating/fishing package.
