The boat

The 750 Game Fisher features Surtees’ renowned non-pounding hull design and a 20° deadrise. Typically, a deeper V hull design usually means a trade-off in stability while underway and at rest, but Surtees combat this with their Anti-Roll ballast stability control, and the 750 has provision for 530 litres of water ballast.

The hull construction includes six fully welded stringers, 6mm hull plates, spray deflection chines and buoyancy airtight floatation compartments – all backed by Surtees’ 10-year hull warranty. The 750 Game Fisher has been designed specifically for extended offshore cruising, with a large 400-litre fuel tank and an 80-litre freshwater tank.

The fully enclosable cabin is perfect for comfortable overnighting and offers great security. There’s plenty of storage room and a generous double berth on comfortable squabs up front. Its 2.5m beam provides a large, uncluttered cockpit with convenient walk-through transom access to an enclosed swim platform.

The engine

Yamaha’s F300 V6 Offshore takes the proven 4.2 litre engine platform to the next level by incorporating technological advancements previously only seen on Yamaha’s flagship V8 425hp XTO models. The F300 V6 packs serious offshore grunt and refined engine features offering you next-generation control, integration, styling, and reliability.

Yamaha’s F300 not only looks good with its aggressive styling, but comes with Yamaha's Thrust Enhancing Reverse Exhaust system, which delivers increased prop grip and thrust for improved manoeuvring in docking situations and reversing up to your next big catch.

Another cool feature is the new Total TiltTM system which allows the outboard to fully tilt up and down from any position, with a simple double push of the Up or Down Tilt buttons. This not only makes operation easier, but the new mounting bracket system allows the engine to sit higher out of the water when not in use, for improved long-term durability and protection.

When combined with Yamaha’s Helm Master EX control system, the new V6 Offshore F300 delivers a boating and fishing experience unlike any else on the water. Helm Master EX is a fully integrated boat control system that makes navigating and getting to your destination easier, and once you arrive, gives a whole new level of control to precisely position your craft to exactly where and how you want it. Never before has a single outboard engine been paired with a joystick control, delivering exceptional versatility and innovation.

The electronics

Garmin has come to the party with a full electronics suite valued at over $20,000. The helm has the award-winning 16” Garmin GPSMAP 8416xsv with a 9” GPSMAP 953xsv remote screen in the cockpit so you don’t miss any action while holding a rod. Included with the GPSMAP is the Navionics Platinum plus New Zealand card with relief shading.

For the perfect view of what’s below, we have fitted the Garmin LVS4 Livescope Panoptix transducer so you can get real-time 3D imagery below, and we have also fitted the GT51M-TM transducer for inshore and offshore fishing. This transducer has medium-frequency CHIRP traditional sonar, CHIRP ClearVü and CHIRP SideVü scanning sonar.

For safety, and keeping in touch with your mates on the water, there’s a Garmin VHF 115i, 25-watt radio. To complete this amazing system, we have added the Garmin FantomX radar in white. This 24” radar will give you the safety of knowing you have 48NM of range, whether looking for danger, other boats, watching the weather, or looking for birds.

No system would be complete without a great backing track. We have used the Fusion Apollo MS-RA770 Stereo and paired it with XS sport speakers and an XS sport subwoofer on a 5-channel D-class amp – with its digital sound processing the music will be as clear as the fish on your Garmin MFD.

The trailer

With a tow weight of approximately 2,500kg, the Grand Prize is well-supported by a Futura tandem-axled trailer. Featuring a fully anodised aluminium, weld-free design, Futura trailers minimise corrosion risks. The tandem axles are equipped with a stainless steel, load-sharing, torsion suspension system, designed to reduce the load on each axle and create a smoother towing experience. Hand-assembled at Futura HQ, the torsion axles are engineered to be low-maintenance and more durable than conventional spring axles. The Futura ensures your rig will look great on the road, too!

Everything else

A plethora of extras is included in the Grand Prize package to help the lucky winner make the most of their time on the water. Automatic Zipwake trim tabs make controlling the pitch and roll of the vessel a breeze, and a remotely controlled Lone Star Drum Winch takes care of anchoring duties. Hella Marine has supplied the onboard lights, while Ocean LED Underwater Lights dazzle as the sun goes down. To further enhance the winner’s fishing enjoyment, the Grand Prize comes with a Shimano fishing gear package worth over $8,000, Icey-Tek and Kai Cooler products to keep the fish (and refreshments) cold, Hutchwilco lifejackets and safety equipment, and Yamaha Marine Insurance.

The crew’s comfort is further enhanced with an electric hot water shower, sink, Engel electric fridge/freezer, an electric toilet, and comfortable twin Hi-Tech Plastic carbon deluxe bolstered seats. A rescueME EPIRB1 provides peace of mind with an impressive 10-year battery life.

Exploding Fish rod holders – the only rod holder on the market that rotates in 5-degree increments locking in various positions as needed – are located along the side decks and Ocean Blue has provided a pair of outriggers to chase the big pelagics.

Looks are also important. Brave Design has provided a unique wrap design that perfectly complements the white hull, and grey SeaDek panels make standing on the cockpit and platform comfortable, protect the side decks, and match well with the aesthetics of the boat.
