Shimano on display at the 2019 Hutchwilco Boat Show

2019 Stella SW

Show patrons can check out the newly-released 2019 Shimano Stella SW spin reels.

This marque represents the pinnacle of innovation from Shimano and is the result of it’s relentless drive to create the very best fishing reels. This flagship series has been upgraded and released in 8000, 10000 and 14000 sizes. Shimano will have knowledgeable staff on hand to talk through the upgrades and you will have the opportunity to get hands on with the new technology.

Grappler rod series

Shimano have created a new series of Grappler rods for both the International and Japanese domestic market to fill a gap in high quality Japanese designed product at considerably less money than what you would have previously would have had to pay for Japanese designed rods. Shimano have employed its benchmark Spiral X and Hi-Power X blank technology in the manufacture of the rods, as well as using top-quality Fuji componentry. The new Grappler series has a full quiver of top water rods from PE4 – PE10, jig rods in PE6 and PE8 in both spin and overhead, slow pitch rods in PE2.5 and PE3, and a micro-jig spin in PE1.5.

Shimano Kids Club

Shimano NZ take their role as industry leaders seriously and as such have implemented a Shimano Fishing Youth Club to help generate interest in kids fishing.

If you’ve got a junior angler in the family that you want to encourage into fishing, then this is the perfect place to help stimulate this interest. You will be able to sign up to the Shimano Fishing Youth Club on the Shimano stand and receive a Shimano certificate to authenticate your membership, as well spin the wheel to win some cool prizes, like Shimano caps, hoodies and fishing rods and reels. Check it all out on the Shimano NZ Stand #188 in The Rock Fishing Hall.
