All new and current subscribers at the end of March went into the draw for a prize has been put together by the Friends of Club Paihia, who have offered a week’s accommodation in a two-bedroom apartment; a day’s fishing with Days Out Charters; a Catch tackle collection; a couple of Explore Group excursions; and a parasailing experience with Flying Kiwi Parasailing.

Club Paihia is located close to all the town’s restaurants and facilities and is a ferry-ride away from the historic Russell, once the ‘capital’ of New Zealand. Paihia is also the starting point for tours that take visitors to all the major scenic attractions further north including day trips to Cape Reinga, Ninety Mile Beach, the Hokianga and a visit to the mighty kauri Tane Mahuta. It is also the tradional home of gamefishing in New Zealand, made famous by writer, adventurer and angler Zane Grey
