Mercury dominates Miami Boat show

Mercury Marine launched its all-new 3.4L V-6 FourStroke outboard family as well as the 150hp Pro XS and an all-new Mercury Racing sterndrive during the recent Miami Boat Show. The new engine platform was given an innovation award and praised by the judges and consumers for its styling and features. Take a look back at the sights and sounds as boaters from around the world rave about the new engines and their time out on the water.

NZ Fishing Media’s managing editor Grant Dixon was at the show and was impressed by what he saw.

The new Mercury 3.4 litre four strokes (175, 200 and 225HP models) certainly created a stir in the marketplace already dominated by this popular American brand.

“We ran in one boat that had four of them across the transom – that was pretty impressive and the surprising thing is just how quiet these motors run – every bit as good as their Verado stablemates.

Another impressive aspect to these motors is a heap of mid-range get up and go, something that has been missing from all the four strokes, regardless of the marque, until now.”
