Whitianga will be the venue for next year’s Surtees Fishing Competition to be held March 25-27, 2021.
This will be the 16th time the event has been hosted by the builders of the popular Surtees marque, and the first time it will be fished out of Mercury Bay.
Surtees spokesperson Isabell Zitzelberger says the change in location will provide an opportunity to involve more people, explore new grounds and fish freely without having to cross a bar as was the case when it was fished out of Whakatane.
The briefing will be held at the Mercury Bay Sport Fishing Club’s tournament headquarters on the Thursday evening, followed with two full days of fishing on the Friday and Saturday, followed by the prizegiving on Saturday night.
Isabell says further details will be posted on their Facebook page as they become available.
The event is open to all Surtees boat owners and their crews
