New Zealand’s biggest all jet-ski fishing competition is returning, this year on November 10, in Auckland.
The Sea- Doo King of Adventure Fishing competition, now in its 10th year, draws around 100 anglers from across the country to compete on their personal watercraft for the crown of “King of Adventure Fishing”. Weatherpermitting, the competition begins with a shotgun start, or, should the weather be unsuitable, is run as a one-base from Lloyd Elsmore Park in Pakuranga. The latter allows anglers to travel as far as they like, as long as they are back for weigh-in before the allocated finish time. The competition boasts a large prize pool of $10,000 cash including $1000 for the “King” who catches the heaviest snapper. The money is distributed across a number of categories for various fish species, such as mystery weight, average weight, a ladies class and a kids class.
The competition is based in Auckland and the weigh-in and prizegiving is open to the public at Advantage Cars in Botany from 3pm, November 10th.
