21 years ago today, Mike Hayes set the IGFA Men’s 24-kg (50-pound) Line Class World Record with this snapper. He hauled in the 16.8-kilogram (37-pound) fish after it ate a half of a skippy head he was using as bait. Mike caught the record fish in Tauranga, and the record still holds today.
