The Robinson Road boat ramp is a good alternative access point to Mercury Bay, with over 40 islands providing a large coastline area for fishing, diving and water-sports. This ramp has recently gone through a complete revamp, with a floating pontoon and a larger area where trailers can be manoeuvred. With this new floating pontoon, boats can launch at all tides.
There is ample trailer parking available on the grass verge next to the boat ramp. A TCDC trailer parking permit is required.
This ramp is just a five minute drive from the centre of Whitianga where there are tackle shops, cafes and supermarkets for you to be able to stock up on anything you need.
