Boat Details:

Justin's main charter boat TOROA is a very well set up and VERY FAST fishing machine. It is a 6.8m Ramco Hardtop powered by a 200hp Mercury Optimax engine. This means action and fun. You can cruise at nearly 80 km/hr and are typically in your first top fishing spot in minutes.

Toroa has all the safety gear for up to 9 passengers at a time. Fishing Groups of around 6 or so is comfortable but groups of up to 9 at a time can fish. There is private toilet aboard and a good stereo for your comfort and enjoyment.

For larger groups Justin works well with a number of other local charter operators to offer a package to suit your group.

Accommodation:

Accommodation to suit your desires and budget are offered.

Oakura Holiday Home offers top location and privacy. It is right next door to the fishing charter operation and offers a three bedroom home with spectacular views with excellent facilities. It sleeps up to 9 people. Enjoy your freshly smoked fish on the balcony overlooking beautiful Oakura Bay and out to the Poor Knights Islands while listening to your favourite music.

A self contained flat offers good but more basic facilities for those wanting to spend their money on the fishing. Sleeps up to 8 people. For the budget visitor there is a caravan that sleeps 4 people with tent sites and campervan parking.

Fishing Equipment/Tackle:

All rods, bait, berley, and tackle use is typically provided along with individual expert tuition. Fishing gear provided is best quality with most being Shimano rods and reels to suit every type of fishing that you are seeking.

There are quality rods and reels for light tackle fishing to serious marlin fishing, snapper straylining gear to serious livebaiting gear for big Kingfish, softbait setups, mechanical and speed jigging, saltwater flyfishing gear , special rods designed for young children, etc.

There are typically over 30 rods and reels aboard TOROA but you are also welcome to bring your own rods and gear.

Safety Equipment:

MV. TOROA is safety certified by the Maritime Safety Authorities to carry up to 9 passengers at a time and carries a full range of equipment for your safety and comfort. There are a full range of lifejackets, liferings, flares, EPIRB safety beacons, GPS positioning equipment, etc. There are also raincoats and wet weather gear and boat shoes offered for your comfort and safety.  Snorkelling and dive gear available.
