The New Zealand Anglers Almanac is a great diary and ready reference for the boat, office or desk at home. As the title would suggest, it’s aimed squarely at the angler and packed with useful information.
There’s a list of every fishing club in the country (or so it would appear) with contact names and numbers, a list of all the fishing contests (with a coded index so that the contest can be traced back to the organising club), first aid tips, Distress and Emergency information, wind and sea state info, tides, fisheries regulations (fresh and salt), gamefish ID, IGFA regulations, knots and rigs and much more. Of course, the Almanac has space for entries each day of the year (more space on weekend days) and tide times in the major centres for those days.
At the back is a comprehensive maintenance log for the boat, as well as fishing tackle, electronics and diving equipment; a vessel log and a useful little recipe section for cooking the catch.
The whole lot is contained in an A5 ring binder. The New Zealand Anglers’ Almanac is available for $16.50 from CP Marketing, PO Box 45 186, Te Atatu, Auckland, ph (09) 525 7678, fax (09) 525 7677.
