The 2008 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boatshow

Win A Boat A Day’ promotion for 2008.

Visitors to the 2008 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show in Auckland on May 15-18 will have four times the chances to win a boat, according to show general manager Dave Gibbs.

“In what are pretty sure is yet another world first for New Zealand’s biggest and most popular boat show, we plan to give away a fully kitted boat every single day of the show,” he says.

To enter the ‘Win A Boat A Day’ draw, show visitors will still have to collect a series of stamps from specially marked booths at the show. However, instead of having just one chance to win at the end of the show, each entry will now compete against only those entries from people who also attended the show on the same day.

“This greatly improves every show visitor’s chances of taking home a brand new boat,” says Dave Gibbs.

The four ‘Win A Boat A Day’ gate prize boats will be Zodiac Pro7 RIB sports boats on specially made trailers. All four will be powered with new Yamaha 40hp outboards and fitted with an Ology Sports Tower, Raymarine electronics and a high quality Fusion marine sound system.

Dave Gibbs says that while he was still finalising all of the “extras” that will be fitted to the prize boats, each prize will have a retail value of at least $30,000.

“We are very excited about this promotion,” he says. “Not only is this the first time a boat show has given away a boat a day, our total prize pool of over $120,000 is also a record.

“Together with a number of other promotions we will be announcing toward the end of summer, the ‘Win A Boat A Day’ will help us build on the huge success of the 2007 show and ensure that the 2008 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show is one of the best boat shows ever.”
