Hunting in New Zealand is a well patronised sport. Hunting for upland game birds and for waterfowl takes place all over New Zealand and ducks, geese, pheasant, quail and partridge are just some of the species which can be hunted in season and according to national and regional regulations.
Numerous species of deer abound including red, sika, rusa, follow and whitetail and roar runs from around the middle of March through to early May. Tahr, chamois, elk, pigs and goats, the hunting in New Zealand is sensational.
